BACKGROUND  
The “Replicating and Upscaling a Village-Based and Managed Disaster-Preparedness  Hubs in Selected Communities of Benguet and Mountain Province” is another project of the Foundation which started in May 2018.The identified target areas are Bokod, Kapangan, Kibungan Municipalities of Benguet Province and Bagnen Oriente, Bauko, Mountain Province.  This project is a replication of a pilot project on disaster preparedness which was tested feasible and appropriate in Benguet and Mt. Province. The GIVE 2 ASIA, one of the International NGOs based in USA grantly funded this project and in partnership with the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) based in Cavite.The duration of the project is only one year from May 2018- April 2019.
 
The main objective of the project is to capacitate partner communities on disaster preparedness to achieve reduced loss of lives, properties, livelihood and infrastructure. To realize the objective set, series of trainings on disaster preparedness and regular meetings were planned to be conducted. Most of these were mostly conducted in the community.


​Project Goal: The over-all goal of this model is, ‘’adequately prepared and functional disaster prepared indigenous communities capable of mitigating disaster risks and hazards highlight the inclusivity with the preparation of vulnerable sectors like women, senior citizens, youth and persons with disabilities’’.
